Almost single-handedly and with compassion, dedication and care, Larn has united police, teachers, politicians, businesses and Elders to keep kids alive, out of jail and thriving.

Larn’s Down The Track provides mentorship, practical education, training, employment and wellbeing support. It has allowed young people to gain skills, participate in social enterprise, become work-ready and re-engage in their community.
Since Down The Track’s 2016 inception, youth crime has fallen significantly. But, just as importantly, it has created a connection between all involved and given young people a sense of worth.
Humble and tenacious, Larn’s commitment is total, and her door is always open to youth in need.
In 2021 Larn was nominated as NSW Local Hero.
Katy Quinn
Senior Youth Worker
Lake Cargelligo local Katy Quinn is a passionate advocate for providing young people with every opportunity possible to reach their greatest potential. She achieves this through her work with Down The Track Youth Enterprises in her local community.

Katy is an active member of her remote local community. She is an avid board member and land manager for the Lake Cargelligo Common Trust. She has been a leader and guide for her local young rural achievers award for several years. Katy is also a committee member and synod representative of the Lake Cargelligo Anglican Church.

Maddy Bell
Program Support Worker
A Lake Cargelligo local, Maddy was a long-term participant of Down The Track before stepping up and gaining employment as a program support worker with Down The Track.

In her spare time Maddy is an incredible artist and loves to play sport, she’s also an A grade netballer. Maddy has a great understanding of the issues young people face in Lake Cargelligo and offers much needed support to the participants of Down The Track.
Courageous and full of enthusiasm Maddy is an inspiring young role model which Down The Track is honoured to have.

Andrew McFadyen
Andrew holds a degree in applied science agriculture where he studied at Western Sydney University Hawkesbury and is also a member of the Australian Institute of company directors.

Andrew moved back to Lake Cargelligo in 2016 to start an Agricultural Consultancy business, not only does Andrew have a passion for the Agriculture space but also Passion for our community and it’s youth in seeing the growth, training & development of our young people.
Andrew is an active member in our community holding numerous roles including chair of St Francis Xavier Primary School community council, Chair of Lower Lachlan Community Services Inc. and President of the Local Lake Cargelligo AFL Football & Netball club. He has given much insight to the needs, gaps & opportunities that exist locally.
Andrew has over 20 years’ experience on boards and advisory panels and has a great understanding of the role governance plays in the success of organisations.
Andrew is a big believer in Down The Track work as he has seen first-hand the work previously carried out in the community and sees a future where Down the Track will be a pillar in youth in Lake Cargelligo.
Alison Wheeler
Alison grew up near Sydney but came to Lake Cargelligo in 1992. She works in adult education, arts education and has two amazing daughters.

Alison loves the space, peace and freedom of outback NSW and is passionate about helping kids learn and find what they want to do and be in the world.
Candice Van Doosselaere

Her passion for supporting young people to build resilience in the face of adversity and to chase their hopes and dreams has permeated throughout her career. Candice has worked at the Delegation of the European Union to China and Mongolia, Cambridge International College and the Human Rights Law Centre in Melbourne, and Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation (VFFF), and Australian Philanthropic Services in Sydney.
In 2020 Candice started her consulting business, Arc Connections, which focuses on building collaboration in the not for profit and philanthropic sector to address systemic issues and increase impact. She currently manages Third Link Investment Managers’ philanthropic portfolio and manages BackTrack Youth Works’ growth strategy.
Candice also works as a personal coach, supporting individuals to address their limiting beliefs and live consciously.
Emma Dyball

Back in 2015 Emma made the life changing decision to move to Lake Cargelligo from Forster on the mid North Coast.

Emma believes there is something special about Lake Cargelligo that just makes you want to get involved and create more opportunities and support for their youth. She says “Just because we live in the Bush doesn’t mean that kids should miss out on the same opportunities that kids in bigger towns have access to”.
Emma’s deep involvement with Down The Track has been a great experience. It changes lives of young people and she is truly proud to have a seat on that journey.
